Our story

Born from a wedding. Built for the people who make them happen.

Finding the perfect venue

Tim spent months searching for the perfect wedding venue with his partner. After countless visits, they finally found it—a beautiful estate with stunning grounds and a team that genuinely cared about making their day special.

The guilt set in

The venue's wedding coordinator was exceptional. Friendly, organised, responsive. But as the planning progressed, Tim started noticing something troubling.

Spreadsheets were being emailed back and forth. Guest list changes meant manual updates in multiple places. The timeline lived in a Word document that needed constant revision. Room allocations were tracked in yet another spreadsheet.

Despite the coordinator's best efforts, the system was held together by sheer willpower.

A house of cards

As the wedding approached, Tim grew increasingly anxious. Not about the wedding itself—but about the fragile coordination system underpinning it all.

What if a guest's dietary requirement got lost in an email chain? What if a room allocation was missed? What if the timeline update didn't make it to the catering team?

The coordinator was brilliant, but they were fighting against tools that weren't built for this job.

A beer and an idea

A few weeks before the wedding, Tim was having a beer with a friend who worked in software. He explained what he'd observed—the spreadsheets, the email chains, the manual processes.

"Why isn't there software built specifically for this?" his friend asked.

It was a good question. Hotels had property management systems. Restaurants had reservation platforms. Events had ticketing solutions. But wedding venues? They were making do with tools designed for something else entirely.

From prototype to product

Tim couldn't let the idea go. Over the following evenings and weekends, he built a rough prototype—a simple system to manage guest lists, room allocations, and timelines in one place.

He offered it to his venue coordinator to try during the final weeks of planning. The response was immediate: "Where has this been all my life?"

The wedding went off without a hitch. More importantly, the coordinator's job had been transformed from juggling spreadsheets to actually coordinating.

Today

That rough prototype evolved into Ceremonio. The mission remains the same: give wedding venues the tools they actually need, built for how they actually work.

No more spreadsheets. No more email chains. No more manual updates across multiple systems.

Just one platform, purpose-built for weddings.
